- Homelessness is extremely harmful to people’s well being and health. Sleeping rough shortens life span by 30 years, with people likely to die younger at 47, compared with 77 for the general population. [NHS December 21 2011]

- Across the UK 3 million working families are just one paycheck away from losing their home, with one in three working families in England not able to afford to pay their rent or mortgage for more than a month if they lost their job [Shelter.org 17 Oct 2018]
